“One of the college professors is participating in an international academic conference within the Nahrein Network affiliated with University College London.”

Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Hussein Al-Emara, a faculty member from the Department of Business Administration at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Kufa, participated in the international conference organized by the Nahrein Network at University College London (UCL – Nahrein Network). The conference focused on highlighting the most significant projects and achievements accomplished by the network over the past seven years, and was attended by professors and researchers who contributed to these accomplishments.

Dr. Al-Emara delivered a scholarly lecture titled:
“Higher education and cultural heritage: can academics concoct opportunities and overcome challenges?”

The lecture focused on the role of higher education in supporting society and its responsiveness to cultural heritage through the design of academic programs tailored for non-traditional learners. It addressed contemporary challenges such as the impact of war on cultural diversity and emphasized the importance of promoting peace, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence within communities.

Additionally, the lecture presented outcomes from two separate projects conducted in collaboration with British universities in which Dr. Al-Emara was involved. The first project was with the University of Bristol, and the second with the University of Oxford. These collaborations led to academic research aimed at leveraging higher education programs to serve community needs and respond to societal challenges, drawing on the experiences of leading universities.

The conference was also attended by representatives from the British Council, the British Embassy in Baghdad, the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as numerous governmental institutions based in Baghdad.
